Topic one

What does individualised mean?

Individualised consultation looks at the person’s history and context rather than relying only on a condition label.

Two people can describe a similar concern but have different timelines, triggers, associated symptoms, routines, and priorities. Detailed questions help build a clearer picture of each person’s experience.

What it does not mean

Individualisation does not guarantee a result or mean that medical diagnosis and investigation are unnecessary. Reports, current diagnoses, and prescribed medicines remain important.

Good healthcare decisions are informed, realistic, and open to appropriate referral or conventional treatment when needed.

Topic two

What happens during case-taking?

Case-taking is the detailed conversation at the centre of a homoeopathic consultation.

You may be asked about

  • When the concern began and how it has changed.
  • What seems to improve or worsen it.
  • Previous diagnoses, tests, medicines, and treatments.
  • Sleep, appetite, digestion, energy, stress, and routines where relevant.
  • Your goals and most important questions.

What to prepare

Bring relevant reports and a complete list of medicines and supplements. A short timeline can also help you remember important changes.

Topic three

Common misconceptions.

Should I stop my prescribed medicines?

No. Never stop or alter prescribed treatment without consulting the clinician who prescribed it.

Can homoeopathy replace emergency care?

No. Emergencies and rapidly worsening symptoms require immediate conventional medical assessment.

Is “natural” always risk-free?

No healthcare product should be assumed risk-free. Share everything you take with your healthcare professionals, particularly during pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood, or treatment for a serious condition.

Can a cure or timeline be guaranteed?

No. Outcomes vary, and responsible healthcare communication should not promise a cure or fixed timeline.
